With multiple rows of ribs ably guiding the tyres, you are able to control the Baja 5B in nearly any off-road situation and on nearly any surface! Side grip is enhanced by the 'dash' ribs, allowing the tyres to grip surfaces like mud and grass. The solid ribs grip harder surfaces like hardpacked dirt and clay, and also work great on very loose surfaces like sand. This is the perfect off-road tyre for the Baja!

The MCD Astro-Grip is one of the most widely used tires in large scale off-road racing. Especially on astro turf and firm clay it provides optimal grip and is resistant to wear. The reinforced shoulder largely protects the tire from damage. Therefore the radial ribbing should normally be mounted on the outside of the. Due to the increased stiffness and some sort of added tread, the ribs also improve the tires traction during cornering.If this effect is not desired (i.e to reduce steering on the front axle), you can also mount the tires with the ribs to the inside, of course. It just has be considered when you glue the tires. Another way to reduce the tires grip at the outer edge is cutting some of the outer pins. MadMax MAXI PIN tyres have been specially developed for carpet race tracks! The special block tread pattern, with 480 knobs per tyre, provides excellent grip, but also puts extreme strain on the tyre and the rim. To stabilise the tyre, the outside of the tyre shoulder is equipped with vertical ribbing on the side, which minimises tilting under load and counteracts the shear forces that occur in bends. Furthermore, the MAXI PIN tyres have knobs positioned on the side of the outer side, which particularly support the steering behaviour of your RC car in bends.
