Even though it looks funny at first sight for uninitiated people! ;-) Just like in full-size racing our tires need a certain temperature to provide the necessary grip that is needed to achieve good lap times. Usually this means that the car will get really fast times only after a few laps. The driver who uses preheated tires has a considerably advantage. With cold outside temperatures or low grip tracks, like a not so clean parking lot, it often not possible at all to bring the tire temperature up to the required range just by driving. As a result the car will be difficult to control! Measures:maximum outer diameter of 130 mm maximum tire width of 80 mmThat includes all standard 1/5 touring car tires! ( ) Instructions: The tire warmers may be operated only on 12 to 13.8 volts AC or DC. In order to reach optimum operating temperature, a power supply with a 12 - 13.8 volts AC or DC and at least 10 amps output power should be used. The T2m Powerbase y1352 is the perfect solution for this application. The operation of the tire warmers directly from a 12 volt car battery (without Powerbase) is also possible, of course. This Double-DVD set, made by Chris Wright from the well known Rev-Up racing magazine, is in MPEG2 format which means it will play on any PC and most MAC computers with the appropriate software (PowerDVD, WINDVD and so on). He used multiple cameras to get this footage from different angles and positions on the track. It is is native wide screen format at 16:9 in PAL.Includes the opening ceremony, concourse, track view and trip, Greek dancers, hot laps by top drivers, four laps shown simultaneously of top drivers so you can compare styles etc, the all important first lap from different angles, pit walk and track stuff during the week, slow motion of all those rolls, loops, spins and crashes, both half finals and the main final, the prize ceremony. You also get a free bonus video of the 24 hours team race at Lostallo a few weeks ago.

This two disc DVD set of the World Championship in Brisbane / Australia in 2007, made by Chris Wright from the well known Rev-Up racing magazine.The 2007 Worlds in Brisbane, Australia finished less than a month ago and Chris Wright has worked hard to get these DVD?s out to you. Have a look at the trailer, but altogether you get 17 videos plus on the second DVD in the EXTRAS directory you will find the full race results in html so you can surf the whole event in your browser. Not content with that also in the extras directory are all the still pictures taken. There are a few hundred pictures here and if your car is not there then it was not through want of trying on our part. These pictures can be printed or used as wallpaper on your computer or even your phone. Titles like 30 minutes of glorious slow motion, the full final with commentary, opening concourse, a view of Brisbane some of it from the air, the two prize presentations - on the track and at the Banquet, lots of other videos as you would expect and a bonus video of our day at Steve Urwin's amazing wildlife park, stroking crocodiles, cuddling Koalas and a Tiger that wanted to like the camera lens, Crikey! It is all there.The DVD?s are in PAL so if you have a TV region in NTSC then you will need to play them on your computer. As the original files started life as high definition and if you play them on a DVD player that upscale?s through HDMI or Component leads, then you will see an improvement in the video quality. Not HD but possibly middle of the road.Trailer:This will be for the moment on Blu Ray DVD discs as Toshiba have yet (after ten months) to release their HD DVD Burner drive. I have tried a few authoring programs and as it is early days they all have their problems so the easy way is to provide the original files for people to select and play. These discs ?may? work in ?some? set top players but as Sony has just upgraded the firmware on set top boxes if yours cannot be updated then you may not be able to play them. However, as the vast majority of Blu Ray players are the much cheaper PlayStation3 (which is even cheaper now the 40 gig cut down version has just been released) these discs will play in all versions. So provided you are feeding your PS3 through an HDMI interface to as a minimum HD ready TV or better still a Full 1080P TV (these files are rendered in 1080P ) you will get the WOW factor. There is a read-me file on the DVD explaining all this.What do you need to get the most out of it? You have to have a desktop/laptop that is connected to a High Def Screen or Monitor of 1920 x 1080 resolution. We also assume you have the processing power of the fastest single Pentium or a Dual Core processor (Intel or AMD), ram of 1 gig + and at least a DirectX 9 or even DirectX10 graphic card with at least 256 meg of dedicated memory on it. You also need a Blu-Ray player or read/writer (The LG one is the cheapest). Assuming under Windows XP you have Service Pack 2 installed then you should be on Windows Media 10. Under Vista you must have at least the Home Premium version or higher installed and this will give you the latest Direct X 10 drivers and Windows Media 11. Your first job is to run the NEO Player provided free on this disc. This installs the free High Definition codec in order that Win Media players these files in the correct way or Power DVD if you are using this popular player. (There is a ?read me? file on the Blu-Ray disc explaining this).Of course if you also have a DVI or HDMI 1.2 or 1.3 interface off your computer then connect it to your High Def TV and get that WOW! experience.

This two Blu-ray disc set of the European Championships in Austria in 2007, made by Chris Wright from the well known Rev-Up racing magazine.On the Opening ceremony you get the full version right up to and including the fireworks display in the evening. Concourse of the cars; Track Ambience; New Parts seen there; Slow motion stuff; Quarter Finals; Semi Finals; Main Final; Prize giving ceremony. As a bonus there is a 40 minute tour of Austria taking in the centre of Vienna by foot and carriage, then out and about to Monasteries, Castles, Palaces, parks, towns and so on all set to the gentle music of Strauss and Mozart. A second bonus is the last of the six series GP?s in 2007 in the new format which has proved so successful. This is the UK GP.PAL-SystemPlease not the following information provided by Chris Wright from Rev-Up racing magazine:"A lot of you will realise that for the past two years we have been filming in High Definition 1920 x 1080 resolution which gives 4-5 times the resolution you get on your normal TV or DVD. It is only in the last few months that software and hardware burners have become available and this European Championship is offered to the few of you who have the equipment needed to watch these High Definition discs and get the WOW! Factor. Sadly Toshiba have not yet made available their HD DVD burner but we are hoping it will be available for the Worlds DVD?s in October. (We will release this European Championship on HD DVD when the required burner is available).We cannot burn a DVD type menu onto Blu-Ray and have compatibility with all Blu-Ray players due to the HSCP copy protections routines built into Blue Ray players and PS3 units by order of Sony and their licensing requirements. This makes it very hard for independent authors to produce High Def content on Blu-Ray. Even when I did make various copies and by trying the disc in three different players at a large electronics warehouse and a Sony shop found that one would not play it, the second one did but the screen was covered in artifacts (copy protection routines scrabbling the picture) and on the PS3 it reduced the resolution to half what it should have been. We are in very early days at present and so far it looks like HD DVD may be the way for Independent Authors unless of course SONY wake up and alter things for us regarding their paranoia over copy protection which we understand but consider there are better ways than alienating people.So as this version at present is confined to Blu-Ray what do you need to get the most out of it? This video of the European Championships in Luxembourg in 2008, made by Chris Wright from the well known Rev-Up racing magazine is available on DVD and Bluray disc.On both formats you get the full week of action on the track with slow motion stuff at very close quarters, in-car-cam tour of the track, the main final, Concourse of the cars, Opening Ceremony of the Teams, Awards Ceremony. There are two bonus videos of the Warm-Up Race in Luxembourg in May and the EFRA Off-Road GP in the UK as well. For those taking the Blu Ray version, not only do you get all this in Full High Definition but you also get our trip behind the scenes of a South African Lion Farm we were at in May on a private visit this year on an appraisal of the venue for the Worlds in 2009.The Blu Ray version will be provided on a 50 gigabyte DVD. To make it as compatible with the hardware out there it has been done to Sony Firmware Version 2.0 so a PS3 60 gig and 40 gig will work just fine. If for some reason it does not then either by Ethernet cable or wireless connection, upgrade the operating system in the PS3.One last thing. When DVD's first came out in the nineties, blank media was very expensive. This is the same with Blu Ray. It has come down in price but needs to come down more. Sadly we have had to pay the going rate which is why the disc is a little expensive but well worth it to see the action inglorious High Definition at the maximum resolution of 1920 x 1080. Even Holloywood Studios only give you 24 frames per second (we do 25) and if you are lucky 25,000 bitrate but more than likely 18,000 (we give you 30,000 for higher resolution).
