The machined and more than 30% lighter than stock CRANK flywheel with fins on both sides contributes to the optimized engine cooling.
To ensure the required cooling for current 1/5 and 1/6 engines the flywheels have fins on both sides. Therefore the fan housing has large openings on the crankcase side for the required air supply. However, the risk of foreign objects (grass, sand, or even stones!) entering here Is very high! As a result, broken fins on the flywheel occur frequently. This leads to reduced cooling efficiency and - even more critical vibrations from a flywheel which is out of balance due to missing fins. Therefore, this kind of flywheel protection is highly recommended, especially for offroad use. The product video explains the handling in detail! Note:It is essential to thoroughly clean and degrease the crankcase prior to attaching the hook-and-loop tape (OKS2661)!For installation on Chung-Yang and Zenoah engines in FG cars, the crankcase cover must be slightly modified in two places where the engine mount is attached (see Figure 6 and 7). The Lightscale Camber Gauge is a black anodised alloy block that features 8 different angled planes in 0.5° steps from 0.5° to 4° on different surfaces. The gauge is to be layed down beside a tyre for negative camber angles and any 90° part is put on one of the planes an pulled towards the tyre. Doing so you can easily check the camber of your tyres. To check positive camber, just turn around the gauge. Turning the gauge upside down will make it a 10mm high block to support you measuring the droop of any 1/5, 1/6 and 1/10 scale Electric or nitro car. Those are usually put on 10mm support blocks and beeing measured their droop with a special tool. The Lightscale ride height gauge (50160200) is a droop gauge as well and will do the job for you.

Now with the "K&N" version the engine mount has been changed to eliminate this discrepancy. However, all aluminum engine mounts available on the market share their dimensions with the previous plastic engine mount. For the installation of a G320 Zenoah in a "K&N" -DBXL two possible combinations exist in order to obtain the correct hole pattern:When using the standard (new) plastic engine mount a shortened clutch housing is required as in a 5ive-TWhen using an aluminum engine mount a stock length clutch housing is requiredSeparately, it is recommended to enlarge the cutout in the body panel in front of the K & N air filter for about 2 - 3 mm to ensure that the panel cannot chafe on the air filter.For all HPI Baja 5 cars the G320RCer clutch housing has to be shortened at the mounting base, for Losi 5ive- T and Desert Buggy XL cars the clutch housings overall length must be shortened to CY size.When installing the air filter you must pay attention to the length of the screws.For use on Losi and HPI we recommend M5x45 screws (like H94763); you can also cut existing screws to length, of course.When ordering with a modified clutch housing we will include these screws!In our shop you can select from Zenoah G320RC engines already modified to fit your HPI or Losi car.The installation of a Zenoah G320RC in a Smartech C5 onroad car is possible without modifications. However, due to the engines performance aluminum engine mounts (set # y0189) are mandatory!The installation of the Zenoah G320RC in other cars (like FG or Smartech buggies / monsters a.s.o.) is not even remotely straightforward, since the layshaft pinion (the small pinion in front of the big differential spur gear) is in the way for the larger Zenoah G320RC crankcase.Compatibility Zenoah / Losi 5ive-T:Please note that for installation in a Losi 5ive the fan cover must be swapped for a Losi or CY cover #5341 in order to fit the chassis" bolt pattern.If you want to install a Zenoah engine into the Losi 5ive, you usually have to use a fan cover from the CY engine.However, there is a workaround to maintain Zenoah fan cover.The adjustment is done via the pinion specific mounting plates for the engine. The change always affects only the rear, outer (carburetor side) plate under the fan cover.
