The Big Scale-EXTREME is an adjustable clutch designed for very special requirements: For high-displacement engines For "weighty" or particularly high-traction models (Losi, HPI) For performance-enhanced tuning engines For demanding off-road use Rapid wear of a clutch is a sign of constant grinding, even though the engagement speed has actually already been exceeded. In this case, the clutch is not transmitting the available torque.This is where the Big Scale Extreme sets new standards. The new design of the Extreme prevents the centrifugal forces of the clutch springs or the lever side of the clutch shoes from counteracting the centrifugal force of the lining side even after the clutch has engaged. The result is an enormous load capacity with minimum wear.  The new design means that the resulting centrifugal forces are fully transferred to the clutch lining. Defined engagement and disengagement even under high loads and in closed clutch housings is no problem for this clutch.  Even when installed, the clutch can be easily adjusted to the desired speed or the optimum frictional connection to suit the engine's performance capacity using three adjusting screws. The special clutch lining of the Big Scale-EXTREME is particularly low-wear and guarantees an exceptionally long service life, especially in combination with a high-quality, nitride-hardened clutch bell ()! In contrast to the "Cross" or "Race", the clutch does not have to be removed from the engine for maintenance work. Installation ready set of 3 with glued-on organic pads.Replacing the clutch liningsFor replacing the friction pads please proceed as follows:1. Remove clutch from engine2. Disassemble clutch3. Remove the screws fixing the friction pads4. Remove remains of old glue and clean the surface to be bonded of the shoes to bare metal 5. Thoroughly degrease the bonding area of clutch shoes and new pads6. You must use the special adhesive y0743 Clutch-Safe!7. Apply a sufficient and complete layer of the adhesive to the bonding surfaces8. Insert the lining into the clutch shoe and align9. Fix the pad in place with screw y0730/03, just hand-tighten it10. Remove excessive glue with a rag11. Preheat oven to 120 °C.12. Put the clutch shoes into the preheated oven for exactly one hour; let the parts cool down13. Reassemble clutch and install it onto the engine14. Genuine GPM spare/option part. Full aluminum clutch shoes are very successfully used in 1/5 onroad racing applications.Therefore we can now offer the GPM conversion kit for BigScale Cross/Race clutches to full-aluminum clutch shoes. Made of a special alloy to suit this application the kit comes with 1.4 mm wire diameter springs and new spring pressure plates.Slight aluminum deposits in the clutch bell and corresponding wear marks in the clutch shoes are normal with the Big Scale ALLOY clutch and have no negative effect on the function. Caution: It is very important that when swapping the full-aluminum clutch shoes against the organic friction pads of a Big Scale CROSS or RACE to use a different or new , because the rough surface of the aluminum deposits in the clutch bell left by the Big Scale ALLOY will cause a high wear on the organic pads.y0730y0731Content:1 set
