To ensure the required cooling for current 1/5 and 1/6 engines the flywheels have fins on both sides. Therefore the fan housing has large openings on the crankcase side for the required air supply. However, the risk of foreign objects (grass, sand, or even stones!) entering here Is very high! As a result, broken fins on the flywheel occur frequently. This leads to reduced cooling efficiency and - even more critical vibrations from a flywheel which is out of balance due to missing fins. Therefore, this kind of flywheel protection is highly recommended, especially for offroad use. The product video explains the handling in detail! Note:It is essential to thoroughly clean and degrease the crankcase prior to attaching the hook-and-loop tape (OKS2661)!For installation on Chung-Yang and Zenoah engines in FG cars, the crankcase cover must be slightly modified in two places where the engine mount is attached (see Figure 6 and 7). We have tested and optimized the Samba 8 tuned pipe system for half a year on the engine dyno and an additional three months on various racetracks! The pipe has a new, very strong connection system. This low-maintenance flexible connection between pipe and manifold is secured by four (!) springs, making a failure prone o-ring seal obsolete! Despite of the increased performance fuel consumption remains the same compared to a Samba 7 pipe. The Samba 8 system provides significantly better performance, i.e. the power is optimally available across the engines entire rpm range!
