The MCD Astro-Block tires feature 42 rows with a total of 230 approx. 5 x 5 x 5 mm ultra-strong lugs with different shape and orientation providing optimal grip, even on loose surfaces like sand or soil.
Due to the extreme stress created by the MCD Astro-Block tire, careful bonding is recommended on reinforced 1/6 rims like FG # 6105/01.
The tires come with a molded rigid inserts which transmit the applied force while maintaining the tires shape.
The MCD Astro-Block competition tire is particularly suitable for tracks with loose soil and sandy surface. The tread design allows for extremely fast cornering and excellent propulsion on these surfaces.
By cutting the tread you can perfectly fine-tune your car with the MCD Astro-Block tires. The partially or nearly complete caps cutting of the outside lugs has a tremendous effect on the cars handling characteristics when cornering grip.
In a nut shell: cutting the lugs of MCD Astro-Block tires on the front axle reduces steering and makes your car usually less aggressive (more drivable). In cases of extreme oversteer (i.e. common in high grass etc.) additional cutting of the lugs on the inside shoulder may help to counteract traction rolling.
The excellent grip and thereby accumulated strain on the bonding of the MCD Astro-Block tires requires careful control of the bonding after each use.
