Because of this we recommend a break-in period of a couple of gas tanks for the shocks with the original piston to smoothen the body's surface. Then swap the pistons for the new o-ring piston. Marder, Off-Road Buggy Set contents: Four long shock absorbers, one pair of shock absorbers has the upper mount with 5 mm bore. We recommend our progressive off-road tuning shock absorber springs from the "Dirt-Spring M" series, part number y0321, for the shock absorbers. The original springs can also be used on FG models! Silicone oil recommendation: The GPM-Spezial Cross shock absorbers are filled with silicone oil viscosity 1000. This viscosity provides very good damping properties at normal outside temperatures. If softer damping is required, oil with a viscosity of 500 or 600 is recommended; for harder damping, 1500 or higher is recommended. One 50 ml bottle of y0038 is sufficient for five long or six short dampers.

The Mammoth brings, due to its quite strong and large pins and the extreme width of the tire, especially on hard and low grip surfaces a high traction! The Mammoth is available in soft, medium and hard! The rule is: the harder the ground the softer the tire compound. Where other tires spin helplessly the Mammoth provides serious traction. The disadvantage of Mammoth tires: Because of their extreme width they need to be mounted on FG wheels, which is a labor intensive job. From experience, we must strongly recommend against using rims from another manufacturer in combination with extension rings. Due to the before mentioned traction no other rim has been up to the task! Broken rims and torn squares were the result.
