The ROADIES Tyre is a new development based on our successful experiences of the last couple of years. The complete four Tyre set weights about 1320g and the reduced diameter eliminates rotating mass at the outer edge of the tyre which is more effective than saving weight closer to the rotating axle, plus the tyres`lower profile make steering more precise especially through fast chicanes. After winning the 2012 European Championship we can promise you a winning capable Tyre for 2013 without having to change it throughout the season.
The PRO Tyre family makes use of our well proven European Championship winning rubber. This tyre works fine from 0° to 40° Celsius on dry tracks. It especially works best in medium to good grip conditions.
The OPTION Tyres` Family development started in June 2012 and is now market ready. It works best in a temperature range of 0° to 40° Celsius and shows its strength in poor grip conditions and dusty tracks. This Tyre is an ideal addition to the PRO compound and offers superior traction and safety. Due to the high torque load on the bonding of tires on largescale cars, checking the bonding from time to time and re-glueing (y0067) if necessary is unavoidable.
!! Attention, please take the following advice !!
- adjust rear camber to a maximum of 2.5° to reach maximum performance and gain tyre`lifetime
- pierce a small hole in the surface of the tyre to allowe it to breathe while heating up and cooling down. This is an essential point and it is very important to not only drill holes into the rims as the inserts are glued to the rims and as a result the tyre can only breathe through wholes in its own surface. So holes in both tyre surface and the underneath of the rim please. Do not worry about any damage to the tyre due to the holes. We have designed it to cope with this.

Even though it looks funny at first sight for uninitiated people! ;-) Just like in full-size racing our tires need a certain temperature to provide the necessary grip that is needed to achieve good lap times. Usually this means that the car will get really fast times only after a few laps. The driver who uses preheated tires has a considerably advantage. With cold outside temperatures or low grip tracks, like a not so clean parking lot, it often not possible at all to bring the tire temperature up to the required range just by driving. As a result the car will be difficult to control!Measures:maximum outer diameter of 150 mm maximum tire width of 110 mm That includes all standard 1/5th car tires! ( Formular 1 car tires ) Instructions: The tire warmers may be operated only on 12 to 13.8 volts AC or DC. In order to reach optimum operating temperature, a power supply with a 12 - 13.8 volts AC or DC and at least 10 amps output power should be used. The T2m Powerbase y1352 or the LRP 43200 Powersupply Competition power supply is the perfect solution for this application. The operation of the tire warmers directly from a 12 volt car battery (without Powerbase) is also possible, of course. The rubber is based on our sucesessfull 2010/11 pro tyre and uses the same compound. The insert has been modified to fit the new shape of the tire. Due to the slick surface the tyre performs better and has a decreased wear rate. Furthermore it offer better traction.The special feature of the 2012 rear tire is its weight reduction of 140 gramms per pair. This was achived by reducing the width by 11mm to 69mm. Due to this change the tyre offers some significant advantages, such as:- reduced tyre spinning mass- reduced volume- more stabilityResulting from those features the clutch has a lot less stress under acceleration; higher rpm will be reached; better traction out of the corner is achived; steering is gained; the front tyre wears less and the tyre performs in a more constant manner throughout the race. As the volume of the tyre is decreased by 25%, it reaches its optimum temperature earlier and keeps it more consistantly. No loss of front end grip will be suffered from anymore as the race proceeds. Furthermore, it is easier to reach good performance in low temperature conditions and the tyre wear is astonishing low.!! The special tool for Lightscale wheel nuts is simply inserted into the end of a spark plug wrench and is secured there by use of an o-ring. With its 3 hardened pins the tool locates into the wheel nut and may be used to tighten or untighten it. The tool is universally usable for all Lightscale wheel nuts.The kit contains the tool as well as the o-ring and hardened pins. The tool comes ready for use.
