Due to the air boxes mandatory for racing and the required off-road air filters, a strong and rigid insulator is a must!
No more stripped threads, no warpage and the resulting air leaks at the insulator anymore! So many weird running behaviors, for example if the engine is warmed up and a tiny gap occurred at the insulator, are caused by this distortion of a plastic insulator.
The increased heat transfer of the aluminum is taken into account by addition of an insulator plate. Therefore the aluminum intake is largely insulated. Due to the face-milled surfaces of the aluminum intake you reach a greater durability of the gaskets.
The SPEED TEC aluminum insulator is available with two insulator plates.
y1354/01 SPEED TEC cross aluminum insulator with 7 mm insulator plate and therefore a longer intake path for more torque. Ideal for off-road and cars.

HURRAX extreme Race tire and insert 175x70 mm HURRAX extreme is one of the most successful tire in large scale off-road racing and specifically designed for astro turf and solid ground. With more than 700 (!) differently designed, closely spaced lugs and the 70 mm wide tread it is reasonably wear resistant and provides optimal grip with good side traction. If this - i.e. on the front axle - is not desired, you may cut the lugs at the tires outer edge to reduce cornering grip. This can be easily done with a small side cutter or strong nail scissors.
