SPEED TEC racing insulator type C, with carburetor cooling, suitable for nearly all 1/5 & 1/6 cars (for very shallow body shells like Porsche GT or similar please use the 23 mm version # ST1011!) SPEED TEC O direct quote: According to our recent developments to reduce engine temperature, we now introduce our latest creation: the Speed Tec Tuning insulator C. Material and internal structure are identical to the original Speed Tec Tuning insulator 26mm. On the side facing the flywheel it has been extended and is provided with four holes. Air is passed through these holes directly from the fan towards the carburetor, which counteracts running lean at high ambient temperatures and improves performance. The insulator temperature is also lowered by the air passing through.The material components of this high quality engineering plastic, with an extremely high melting point of 280° C, guarantee optimal heat dissipation. Unlike the original insulator, this allows for a much better thermal insulation of the carburetor and therefore prevents fuel vapor lock in the carburetor at high ambient temperatures! The leaning of the engine at higher temperatures is counteracted! The 50% increased height and optimized port allows for lower fuel consumption! 60% glass fiber content of the SPEED TEC tuning insulator makes for strong mounting threads, providing a sturdy base for the usual airboxes or large off-road air filters which are common in competition applications.Minor modification of cylinder shroud is required!
