TopTuning 24mm hex wheel drives are required if you want to run wheel combos with the standard 24mm hex drive (such as Losi 5ive-T/B; DBXL; HPI-Baja etc.!) on your Losi Super Baja-Rey, Super Baja Rey 2.0 and Super Rock Rey. Suitable for 8 mm axles.
The stock Super Baja-Rey / Super Rock Rey20 mm hex drives (# LOS252077) will be swapped for the TopTuning 24 mm version. No additional parts are required for installation of the 24 mm hex wheel drivers. The Losi Super Baja-Rey's fake brake discs and calipers must be removed prior to assembly.
Attention: For the attachment of the wheels you also need wheel nuts with M18x1.5 thread (i.e. AT-5T004), which are also offered in our shop's option menu!
Please note: These adapters only fit in combination with the optional aluminum spindles or wheel bearing carriers. The aluminium versions have a slightly larger bearing distance, which requires different dimensions for the wheel drives.
As already mentioned in the Losi instruction manual, the gearing should be adjusted depending on terrain and tire tread. Depending on tire size the rear of the fenderwells will need some cutting.
Please note: the wide rear wheels from MadMax or HPI do not fit!
This applies in particular to aggressive tread large diameter off-road tires and demanding terrain. In this case we recommend the profile regraded, nitrided 15T pinion # TT1021/07 from the TopTuning.

Genuine Top Tuning spare/option part. Motor pinion made of nitrided hardened steel, module 1.5 and 8 mm bore. Reinforced hub for set screw M5x6. The pinions with odd tooth counts are profile shifted. Within the same outer diameter, there is no need to adjust the backlash when changing the pinion. When mounting on vehicles with mounting holes in the motor mount that are specific to the tooth count, the mounting holes for the higher number of teeth in each case (16 or 18) must be used.Profile regraded:This means that the number of teeth is changed while the diameter remained constant. The part of the involute curve that defines the tooth profile is changed. Positively regraded (lower number of teeth) pinions are stronger and run smoother, the reduced strength of negatively regraded pinions doesn´t really matter. SUPER GRIP 170 x 80 mm and 170 x 60 mm with black MadMax Extreme rims for 24 mm hex wheel drive, 20 beadlock screws per rim and reinforced orangen beadlock rings. Fits Losi 5ive-T, 5ive Mini, Desert Buggy XL and all HPI Baja 5B and 5T/SC cars.Due to the extreme stress created by the MadMax SUPER GRIP tires, the rim has been optimized again.The tires come with a special rigid insert which transfers the applied forces without tilting; even with the heaviest cars like the Losi 5ive-T.All together, the SUPER GRIP lives up to its name and provides maximum grip, which makes it necessary to use the supplied 3 mm beadlock screws for the MadMax EXTREME rims instead of the usual 2.5 mm screws. Additionally, the seating of these screws should be checked after each use.The MadMax SUPERGRIP tires have been designed especially for use on tarmac. Even on fine-pored tarmac your car will still find enough grip! (As you can see in our video.) On most 1/5 and 1/6 cars the best combination is the use of 60 mm wide front and 80 mm wide rear tires. Genuine HT spare/option part.This adaptor allows you to install all MadMax/HPI tire/rim combinations on FG, Carso, Smartech 2WD/4WD and other cars with the same wheel shaft configuration. Losi 5ive tires can be used as well, but they hey have to be mounted on MadMax/HPI rims because Losi rims are too thick at the center. The adapter is drilled for 8 mm wheel shafts (FG, Smartech/Carson and many more!), hex size of wheel drive and wheel nut is 24 mm hex with M18x1.0 thread (same as HPI).Please note:FG wheel shafts come with either M6 or M8 thread size. It can even happen that a vehicle has different thread sizes front and rear! Genuine TopTuning spare/option part.These adapter nuts, manufactured from billet 7075 aluminum allow for easy and precise installation of all MadMax, HPI and Losi 5ive tires and rims on the Traxxas X-Maxx. For the best result possible, nut and adapter are manufactured as a one-piece unit.It should be noted that the wide rims can be used on the rear axle only. On the front axle they would limit the steering angle by grinding on lower a-arm and steering rod.LosiDBXL rims do not fit the X-Maxx (depth of hex is too deep)!Traxxas has microencapsulated the wheel shafts of the X-Maxx to secure the wheel nuts. Like any thread locking compound this is not for eternity. After several tire changes the use of a normal screw locking compound is advised, we recommend it "y0113 / 01 medium strength".The dimensions of the nut are specifically designed for use with MadMax, current HPI and Losi rims. Rims from Losi 5ive have slightly different dimensions in the hub area. This is meaningless on the large LOSI or HPI wheel adapters. With the smaller and shorter wheel nut thread of the X-Maxx wheel shafts you cannot compromise. Therefore there are also special nuts for the Losi rims/wheels available at our options menu.However, somewhere in the past, the injection moulds for the HPI rims were slightly modified in the hub area. As part of that job the bore diameter has probably been slightly increased. The special tool for Lightscale wheel nuts is simply inserted into the end of a spark plug wrench and is secured there by use of an o-ring. With its 3 hardened pins the tool locates into the wheel nut and may be used to tighten or untighten it. The tool is universally usable for all Lightscale wheel nuts.The kit contains the tool as well as the o-ring and hardened pins. The tool comes ready for use. Genuine HT spare/option part.Wheel squares made of high-strength aluminum, hardened, with two M6 mounting threads Suitable for most 1/6 and 1/5 rc-cars. Through the use of two 6 mm screws a significantly higher retention force is achieved. Yet it is still recommended to use medium strength thread lock (link y0114)! The hard anodizing (HART-COAT) guarantees much lower wear of the squares! Especially recommended when using wheel mounted brake discs! Four 3x16 dowel pins per square are included which prevent the squares from spinning in the rim. Press fitting them into the wheel squares is optional. The 12, 14 and 17 mm wide squares feature a groove for inserting a C-clip (link 6106/05), which acts as a guide for the brake disk. The narrow 9.5 mm wide squares dont need a clip; the close sitting rim will guide the disk.
