In order to reduce the edging in the tire on the front axle.
This makes a tire less aggressive during cornering and changes the cars behavior towards understeer. It becomes depending on the track conditions (i.e. wet!) a lot more drivable.
An optimal vehicle setup can often be achieved by running already used HURRAX extreme tires on the front and new ones on the rear axle.
This is especially true for 2WD models.
