The pinions are machined from bar stock steel and nitrited (the stock pinion is metal injection molded). The do all fit with the stock spur gear and are secured with a center bolt like the stock pinion (which has 17T).Module: m=1,5Profile regraded, this means that the number of teeth is changed while the diameter remained constant. The part of the involutes? curve that defines the tooth profile is changed. Positively regraded (lower number of teeth) pinions are stronger and run smoother, the reduced strength of negatively regraded pinions doesn?t really matter.

The V-pin competition tire is particularly suitable for tracks with loose and sandy surface. The high tread profile, extended to the tire shoulder requires a high manufacturing cost. This tread design guarantees an extremely high side traction and provides maximum propulsion especially on surfaces like sand and loose soil for optimum. A well proven combination is the use of in the rear and V-pin at the front. By cutting of the tread profile of the V-pin tires you can adjust your car's handling easily. The partly or nearly complete removal of the V-pin tire's tread on the outside of the tire, greatly affects the tire's side bite when cornering.Please take a look at the corresponding pics:Pic A - very high lateral grip = car tends to oversteerPic B - high lateral grip = still sharp steering responsePic C - reduced lateral grip = neutral handlingPic D - low lateral grip = expect the car to understeerOf course, the before mentioned does depend on the track surface!Summarized: removing tread from V-Pin tires on the front axle will reduce oversteering, calm your car and make it easier to drive.When oversteering is extreme (e.g. high grass) you may even start cutting the tread on the inside shoulder. This can prevent your car from those annoying traction rolls.For very loose soil the soft compound is recommended, under normal condition the medium compound is usually your best choice.HPI Baja 5 cars can also use these tires when equipped with special adapters.
