29 cc high-performance engine which is specifically developed for rc-car use.

The SCZ E290 has a 4-bolt cylinder with and a separate head with 5 head bolts. O-rings are used for sealing these parts instead of the usual paper gaskets. The cylinder wall is ceramic coated. The cooling is done as usual via the fan blades of the flywheel.

The reed valve design ensures the best possible charge for the combustion chamber and contributes significantly to the engine’s enormous power.

The forged crankshaft with closed cheeks has a larger than normal shaft diameter engines and runs in oversized high-speed bearings and seals. The connecting dimensions of the shaft towards the clutch follow the usual standard.

The performance of the SCZ E290 is specified with 9 hp at 15,000 rpm, the speed limit under load with 21,400 rpm, the speed limit without load with 24,000 rpm.

Please note: The engine is shipped without spark plug, carburetor and clutch, but with machined clutch housing and carrier for a standard clutch!


Hints for installation:

• Manifold flange: The SCZ engine has a larger exhaust port.
• On Samba, Mielke or Jetpro manifolds for Losi 5ive-T enlarging the port in the flange is recommended, so as not to impede the flow of gas.
• The flange of the Samba manifold for Losi DBXL is too small for proper modification, on Mielke or Jetpro manifolds enlarging the port in the flange is recommended, so as not to impede the flow of gas.

Air filter: Due to the slanted carburetor mount, the mounting position of the air filter changes as well.
On a Losi 5ive-T, the air filter is slightly deformed by the cage, but acceptable. The 5ive-T filter is also recommended for installation in the Mini.
On a DBXL it is necessary to cut the body panel; the air filter will partly stick out of the cage / body shell.

Fits Losi 5ive-T / Mini, Losi DBXL and HPI Baja 5 series cars at the moment.
