Bleeding the Mecatech BigBore shocks

- back

Lose the lower nut of the shock by means of a screw-wrench. Screw off the lower nut completely from the sock housing. Check whether both bleeding screws are locked.
Fill in the silicon oil till half of the inner thread of the shock housing. Wait until all air bubbles are gone. Before you fix the lower nut make sure that the shock shaft is completely extended.
Before you fix the lower nut again you have to replace one bleeding screw by a bleeding nipple with tube. Screw on the lower nut completely. Pay attention that the nut is fixed straight, other wise the thread can be damaged. Tight the nut by means of a screw- wrench.

Remove the bleeding nipple with tube and close the shock by means of the bleeding screw. Remove the bleeding nipple with tube and close the shock by means of the bleeding screw. Now you can test whether the shock is free of air. If you press in the shock shaft and you feel a “hole”, means when the shaft can be moved a little without resistance there is still air in the shock. In this case you need to repeat the procedu- re. Maybe there was not enough oil in the housing which leads to an air buffer between the oil and the shock piston plate.
